Once we complete the application for your Interstate Authority, you will be issued a pending MC number from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This MC number will remain pending for at least 18-21 days due to the federal protest period. Household Goods and Passenger Carrier applications may remain pending up to 6 weeks.
In order for your authority to be granted at the end of the protest period, you need to have the following two filings in place.
1. The BMC-91(x) is a form submitted by your insurance company that verifies your liability coverage. (Common Carriers will require the BMC-34 Cargo Insurance verification also).
2. The BOC-3 (Designation of Process Agents) is an electronic filing we can complete to designate the required process agents in every state. This filing is included with every package.
